Barnes & Noble Nook

Amazon Kindle 2 tinyurl.com Barnes & Noble nook is an electronic book reader developed by Barnes & Noble, based on the Android platform. The device was announced in the United States on October 20, 2009, and was released November 30, 2009 for US$259. The nook will compete with the Amazon Kindle, Sony Reader, and other readers, and will include Wi-Fi and AT&T 3G wireless connectivity, a six inch E Ink display, and a separate, smaller color touchscreen that serves as the primary input device. The nook is the first electronic book reader to be based on the Android platform, and has a MicroSD expansion slot for extra storage. One differentiating feature of the nook is the “LendMe” feature: some books are licensed by their publishers for sharing. In those cases, the purchaser is permitted to share a book once, with one other user, for up to two weeks. Users will be able to share purchased books with others who are using Barnes & Noble’s reader application software for iPhone, iPod Touch, Mac, and Windows. Amazon Kindle 2 tinyurl.com -
