Lately I’ve been typing out my shownotes in a google friendly format. On Brief #262 I review the Amazon Kindle eBook reader [1]. It’s all about the good, the bad, and the ugly, also known as the function, the feel and the look. I have lots of criticism for the hardware, and a little bit about the software, but I love reading on the Kindle. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being a :CueCat [2] barcode reader and 10 being an iPhone, I give Kindle a seven. It’s a first generation device with plenty of room for improvement, but for early adopters who love books and Amazon.com, the negatives are easily tolerated. Now, Amazon, bring on version two! One of the cool experiment features of Kindle is something called “Ask Kindle NowNow” and it rocks. At the time we shot, I hadn’t gotten an answer to the question I asked. By upload time, I received a very thorough and impressive answer. I just might be about to recoup my investment in the reader by using NowNow. You’ll have to watch to know what I’m talking about. Sony has a new line of high-end headphones and they’ve made the brilliant decision to enlist my help in spreading the message. I haven’t had a chance to try the MDR-EX90LP earbuds [3], but the design is beautiful and the specs make we want to try them. You can get more information at sony.com/headphones [4]. This a behind the scenes attempt to set a scene, which somewhat sequels my previous 3 videos in my kitchen… note the door in the left hand corner, directly to the left of the patio table. That door enters the kitchen shown in the previous 3 videos. In this scene behind the planned scene, I’m futzing around my patio, Amazon KINDLE-2 in hand [just ordered the Latest Generation!], with my Toshiba laptop’s web cam working gleefully in the background [I had the laptop set precariously on the tiny stool shown in the kitchen videos]. I was planning to use this patio setting for my next recording reading my paranormal murder mystery from KINDLE. But twilight arrived [video was recorded mid-July] before I could get myself and patio in the right play of frame. I relished this process so much, than when I saw the video in its raw, care worn joy, I decided to share it. Here you get a butterfly’s view of an old, deeply lived in house… a home, which was carried [circa 1909] by horse and cart from a small town 5 miles away from this 500 person, historic mining town. As worn as it is, I love this place and feel fortunate that it owns me. [My next video, “Patio Poses…. Video Frames Dancing” is my first attempt at using the Automovie option in Windows Movie Maker. That video uses parts of this one, and a second take which I didn’t upload.
